Strong Authentication to Applications
Many organizations are looking to improve security and mitigate risk by applying strong authentication (e.g., smart cards or RSA SecurID tokens) to applications, as well as networks. However, enabling applications to accept strong authentication is impractical-many applications can not be modified to accept strong authentication and other applications require costly and time-consuming reprogramming.
Passlogix v-GO Authentication Manager enables you to extend the benefits of strong authentication to applications without requiring applications to be customized or modified.
How Passlogix v-Go Authentication Manager Works
Passlogix v-GO Authentication Manager authenticates users via your selected strong authentication system and automatically maps the identity to the correct id/password for each application. It then automatically injects that id/password into the application. Users never know or type an id/password.
Going far beyond current password security practices, Passlogix v-GO Authentication Manager can 1) hide application passwords from the user, 2) make the passwords as long and complex as the applications can accept and 3) change passwords frequently, even after every logon, if appropriate, enabling you to move to one-time passwords for most or all of your applications.
More than Just Smart Cards and RSA SecurID
Passlogix v-GO gives enterprises the flexibility to deploy a variety of strong authentication devices, such as smart cards, proximity badges, biometrics, and one-time password tokens to meet industry- or enterprise-specific needs.
Benefits of Passlogix v-Go Authentication Manager
Improve Security - Extend Strong Authentication to Applications
Passlogix Authentication Manager enables organizations to add strong authentication to applications, thereby strengthening security at the point of application access.
Dramatically Reduce Time and Effort to Deploy Strong Authentication
By eliminating long and costly customization projects typically required for adding strong authentication to applications, v-GO Authentication Manager dramatically reduces the time it takes for organizations to realize the benefits of strong authentication.
Implement Flexible but Secure Authentication
System administrators can take advantage of v-GO Authentication Manager's intuitive administration console to quickly set which applications users can access with which authenticators, providing flexible but secure access to applications. Administrators can set authentication parameters to meet the data protection levels best suited to user access and securing the enterprise.
Features of Passlogix v-Go Authentication Manager
Authentication Options
v-GO AM provides integration for industry leading authentication methods and provides support for both primary logon and reauthentication requests (such as forced re-authentication, session time-outs or application-specific authentication requests) for both connected and disconnected use. v-GO AM is an extension of v-GO Single Sign-On (v-GO SSO) and fully integrates with v-GO Session Manager (v-GO SM).
Strong Authentication

Central Administration
GUI-based Administrative Console provides configuration and control over v-GO AM settings and authenticators, including:
- Specifies which strong authentication methods in your environment are required for enrollment and the order in which they are presented.
- Configures graded authentication on a per-application basis and restricts access to specific applications based upon the assigned grade-level of the authenticator used.
- Allows or disallows the use of multiple authenticators interchangeably for initial logon and subsequent authentication events.
Deployment
- Utilizes Windows Installer technology
- Deploys using most deployment tools, such as SMS, Tivoli, Zenworks, and Novadigm
Event Logging & Reporting
- Administrator-controlled logging of user v-GO AM events and activities, including successful and failed logons, and the grade level in which the attempt was made
- Logs events through v-GO SSO
Event Logging & Reporting
- Fully integrates with v-GO SM
