Action Identity would like to congratulate our healthcare client (we are under NDA and not allowed to use their name for marketing purposes) for their ISE North America Information Security Project of the Year Award nomination. After noticing an underutilization, that I believe stems from a lack of awareness, today I’d like to talk a little about the Driver Health Monitoring subsystem within NetIQ's / Novell's Identity Management suite. 

Driver health monitoring allows you to set conditions for different levels of “health” on a driver. By default, a driver will have 3 states: red, yellow and green. The criteria for these states can be created using different conditions such as the cache size, the number of transactions in the queue, the timestamp on the oldest transaction and obviously the driver state (running, stopped, starting or shutting down). Additional custom states beyond the three defaults can be easily added.
